An Impressive End To 2011 For Philippine Golf

There's no better way to end the year but with great accomplishments. In the local scene my former students Terence Macatangay, Charles Hong and Glenn de Leon all turned Pro this year, I congratulate you all and good luck in your professional golf careers!

Ferdie Aunzo did us proud in the recently concluded ASEAN PGA Tour's Ancora Classic at the Emeralda Golf and Country Club in Indonesia, where he won by five strokes! Also for the ASEAN PGA Awards 2011 Jay Bayron took home the award for Most Birdies!

But the most impressive accomplishments were by no other than Juvic Pagunsan who topped the 2011 Philippine Golf Tour's Order of Merit, was awarded as the Asian Tour's 2011 Order of Merit Champion, took 2nd place in this year's Barclays Singapore Open and grabbed the 177th spot in the Official World Golf ranking. Whew! This just shows that Juvic can play well all year round! He should be awarded Athlete of The Year for the Philippines! More power to Juvic and I can't wait to see him play in the majors next year!
